Places I Like in Eskişehir | Where to Visit?
I mentioned yesterday that my aunts came from Eskişehir. I thought I was talking about Eskişehir a lot these days, so I wanted to write down my favorite places there. Before the pandemic, I used to go there every summer holiday with my cousins and had a good time. As my grandma was born and has lived there, she knows the best places in Eskişehir. While I was having this opportunity, we talked about the best places to visit, and we were in disagreement. So I wanted to make a list of my favorite places in Eskişehir.
Kanlıpınar Park
When I was in Eskişehir, I used to love going to Kanlıpınar for a picnic. We used to barbecue there, play games, wander around the lake. There are barbecue stoves and ready made hammocks. I used to walk among the trees and take pictures with my cousins. They are 5 and 7 years older than me but we are like friends with them, you would like it if you saw it. If we go back to the park, it is a very big and beautiful place. Anyone who wants to have a picnic in Eskişehir comes here.
Sazova Science, Culture and Arts Park
You can find many touristic things in Sazova Park. Model airplanes, ships, sculptures, miniatures, and most popularly, the fairy tale castle. I went once with my father and cousins. The fact that it's made for tourists can't change the idea that it's nice. Although we want to enter the castle, we can not go inside because it is not built. I think they wanted to build a fake Disneyland in Eskişehir:)
The Fisher and His Dog Statue
Although I don't know the name of the statue, I love this statue since I was little for no reason. There is not much to talk about, here is the statue. There is also a controversial statue of a seed-eating donkey that I have not seen before.
Papagan Çiborek
I know there is not a touristic attraction center or something but everyone lines up here to eat its çibörek. They just make çibörek(a type of pastry filled mince) and its very famous. I lost count how many times we came here to eat. TMI: 5 pieces of çibörek are served in one portion.
Hamamyolu street is the most famous shop area in Eskişehir. You can find everything you need there. Every time I go there, I always stop by Hamamyolu street. With the new arrangement, they added different tiny art spaces and seating areas, called Hamamyolu urban deck. In fact, the meaning of the street is the bath road. There really is a bath at the end of the road and it is very famous. I used to go there by force with my grandmother and mother, the old days...
That's enough wandering, you're tired now, go home and rest. Bye Bye👋🏰
